Q and A

What should I wear?

I want you to feel as comfortable and confident as possible. Wear something that makes you feel pretty and fits your style. Take advantage of the two wardrobe changes by wearing something casual and something a bit more formal. Avoid shirts that have words printed on them. Prints are fine if done in moderation and mixed with a solid color. For a group shoot or engagement shoot I recommend not being too matchy instead stay in the same color scheme/hue.  (psst, I work best with pretty bright colors!)

I want to look my best for my shoot. Am I allowed to have a hair Hairstylist/Make Up Artist with me during the shoot?

Yes! If you would like to have a hairstylist/make up artist with you during your shoot then I encourage it. Confidence can show in pictures and I want you to feel and look like a million dollars!

In particular I suggest using Lyndsey Lenard. She specializes in weddings, events & special occasions. Lyndsey's prices are extremely reasonable and she is also willing to stay throughout your shoot to make sure you look perfect in each frame!

Why do your prints cost so much?

I understand why you would want to know why I charge $4.00 for a 4x6 print when the local drugstore sells them for twenty cents. It is because I don't outsource my prints to an online company instead I use a professional photo printer. My prints last four times longer than a print from a kisok or photo lab printer. It prints up to 5760 x 1440 dpi and ink droplets as small as 1.5 picoliters. What does that mean? That the finest of detail will be printed.

I need photos taken for an event, do you offer custom packages?

Yes! From smaller events like your child's baseball game & prom pictures to larger events like reunions. I would be happy to create a custom package to fit all your needs and your budget.

Why can't I purchase the images on a disc?

I am sorry but I do not offer images on a disc for you to make prints from. However, I am open to putting a slideshow of images on a disc that way you can have all of the images from your shoot.

Where do you shoot?

I am an on location natural light photographer, which means I can meet you pretty much anywhere. From a park, skyline, plantation, beach, to your favorite coffee place or even from the comfort of your own home. If possible I like to personalize your session by taking photos at places that are special to you, like the first place you and your fiancé met or the hanger where your husband is training to become a pilot.

What sets you apart from other "photographers"?

It seems as if everyone who owns a digital camera is trying to market themselves off as a photographer lately. Taking nice portraits involves more than just an expensive camera. It involves knowledge of how to properly use the camera and how to properly edit pictures. With that said I believe my prices are competitive and my work speaks for itself.

Is there anything you won't do?

I am pretty open to shooting anything. However, when it comes to editing pictures there is one thing I refuse to do and that is selective color. Selective color is an editing technique where majority of the picture is black and white while there are parts that are left in color, i.e. leaving eyes, roses or an outift in color. To me it cheapens the quality of the picture. Needless to say it is not my style or taste.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! I offer a 10% Military Discount on all prints. Also, if you refer a friend that books a session then you will recieve a session half off. They must mention your name at the time of booking.

When should I book a session?

I require that you book a session at least two weeks in advance. This is so I can get to know you and prepare for your shoot. However, I prefer that you book a session a month prior to your shoot. If there is a particular day you want to shoot on or a particular weekend I highly recommend booking in advance.

How many pictures will be in my online gallery?

Typically there will be between 50-80 pictures to view in your online gallery. However, depending if you choose a custom package there may be more or less pictures to view.

When will I be able to view my pictures?

You can preview your pictures at WS Photograpy Blog and WS Photography Facebook Fan Page roughly 2-5 days after your shoot. You are welcome to tag yourself in the pictures. About 2 weeks after your shoot I will email your online gallery password to you. You are welcome to share it with all your friends and family. Please be patient during this process because each picture has to be edited. But, if you chose a custom package it may take a longer time or shorter time for you to view your pictures.
