Change is in the air.

Ooooh la la!  The blog has gone under another update.  I may edit the header and make the image change like that last one... but for now I am happy with how it turned out.  On the topic of change, have you checked out the official website lately?  It has gone under a makeover as well.

I have been eyeing a new lens lately and I might splurge on it this week.  It would be nice to have for the upcoming shoots in Atlanta; Hendrix family & Amy + Lola.  I am a big fan of having a blurry backdrop with all the focus on the main subject(s).  I try my best with my current lens and with photoshop tricks but I think this lens will bring it to another level. To see samples of work on what this lens can do check out this website.

I like the idea of giving back to the community through photography.  So when I started my business I decided to become part of Think Pink Photography, an organization that supports cancer patients.  Unfortunately, they went under "administrative reorganization" and this reorganization has been going on for a few months.  Throughout this process their website has been down so I have been unable to give back to cancer patients/survivors.  Today I decided that I will remain a member for Think Pink Photography in hopes that they will be able to pull through their reorganization but also give another charity a try.
Operation: Love ReUnited is an organization that gives back to military families throughout their deployment process.  I became first interested in Operation: Love ReUnited when my husband was stationed at Camp Lejeune.  Now that the opportunity exists I am going to try to be part of their photog team.  I filled out the application and I should hear back within 30 days.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Updated:
I purchased the lens tonight. Too bad I won't have it in time for my upcoming shoots... but that is okay!

I totally forgot to mention that I am officially part of Operation Love ReUnited! I am really excited to be part of their team! :)
Now that Megan has let the cat out of the bag (she left a comment about it... naughty) I guess this time is better than any other time for me to say this...
I am pleased to announce that Golf Business Magazine contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing a shoot for them this coming week. I don't plan on providing any other information other than that at this time but I will try to keep you updated. I am really looking forward to working with them and this great new experience. I feel very privileged that they asked me to do this. It is amazing to think of all of the different business opportunities there are in the photography world. When I started WS Photography the thought of having my work featured in a golf magazine never crossed my mind but I am extremely happy that they came to me with this project.
